India is a country with large live stock population and is a major tanning center. The reassuring presence of our tannery has always been considered a force in the leather industry and has successfully set an example. We have been successful in quickly tackling the challenge of implementing environment friendly production measures in tanneries besides setting up individual effulgent treatment plants (ETPs). For this we use the latest clean tanning and innovative waste treatment technologies like chromium recovery and reuse/reverse osmosis for the recovery of good water from saline effluent and for the safety and health measures for the tannery workers.
Substances recognized as being ecologically problematic and hazardous to health are no longer used in our tannery. Other steps being taken by us to ensure an Environment friendly tanning include:
